A unique equipment drying and organizational system, The Hockey Hangout is the first of a new product line designed to help organize, air out and dry sporting equipment. Designed to carry everything today’s hockey player needs, but folds down to save space. Eleven mesh pockets, labeled for each piece of equipment, promote airflow to aid in the drying process as well as allow players to take a quick inventory of their gear. No more arriving at a tournament to learn you are missing a pad or skate. Built-in skate guards protect the blades from damage, plus heavy gagged elastic closures help keep the gear from excessive movement.

The smell from hockey gear is more than an unpleasant odor it may be an indicator there is a breading ground for dangerous bacteria growing in the padding, seams and fabric. Manufactures have recommended that players dry hockey gear after each use. Stinky gear has been a part of the game for years, but today the real concern is the rise of new resistant bacteria (Superbugs) with the potential to hurt of even kill a perfectly healthy athlete. The numbers of reported cases have increased across the USA and Canada. Healthcare professionals are calling on schools to completely clean locker rooms and sports areas and to eliminate that can become a breading ground. Recently the Mount Vernon NY school system had to be closed and cleaned after a student and teacher both showed signs of a Staph infection. Other districts from Virginia to California and across the USA have had the same issue. According to a recent MSNBC report in the near future deaths from these types of infections may exceed those caused by AIDS.
The healthcare industry has voiced concern that new antibiotic resistant infections (MRSA) have become very common in the general population.
